First Aid Kits, Other First Aid Items, Pouches, Canteens, and Canteen Stuff:

Survival Party Store’s Vehicle First Aid Kit Type 1 (NEW in MOLLE IFAK Pouch) $48

This first aid kit is designed to help you with administering first aid for both life threatening stuff as well as minor cuts and scrapes (the other first aid kits on the market tend to be just all one way or the other). While it’s called a “vehicle first aid kit” it’s also a great first aid kit for a bug out bag and since it is in a pouch of course can be worn as well.

This first aid kit differs from Survival Party Store’s Vehicle First Aid Kit Type 2 in that it has all black tactical shears (instead of just the handle of them black) and those are more expensive so this kit is $1 more expensive. The shears are the same size and manufacturer and so everything else about them is the same and everything else about this first aid kit is the same as the other.

This first aid kit includes these 5 parts:

1. MOLLE IFAK First Aid Kit Pouch in Black

2. Tactical EMT 5.5” (Inch) Trauma Shears

3. USGI Muslin IFAK Bandage

4. Rapid One Hand Application Tourniquet

5. CURAD First Aid Portable Pack

For the first thing it comes with of the MOLLE IFAK First Aid Kit Pouch in Black this is what I say about it in the listing where I sell it separately:

The pouch is a black-colored MOLLE IFAK pouch. It’s 8 inches tall, 6 inches wide, and 3 inches deep. It’s made of nylon consisting of premium-quality 900D heavy-duty polyester material and corrosion resistant, sturdy, and durable. Some of my suppliers said it was “waterproof” some “water-resistant” so it is at least water-resistant. It has a 2 way zippers to be able to open completely and lay flat and also open either side, I recommend storing it with both zippers centered at the top. It has a ventilated hole at the bottom. It has elastic straps inside to neatly organize first aid supplies but if you use it with just what it comes with and just the recommended items I recommended not using those for faster access to what you are reaching for. It has a “rip-away” feature of 2 straps on the back of it connected to snaps at the bottom if you were wearing it and needed to take it off fast. It comes with a 1.5”x1.5” Red Cross medical patch which is detachable and is only stuck on with Velcro, but it’s recommended to leave it there to help designate what the pouch is for and leaving it centered where it is looks best.

“MOLLE” is the newest system of U.S. military pouches and are made backwards compatible with “ALICE” pouches (and ALICE is an acronym that stands for “All-purpose Lightweight Carrying Equipment”) and “MOLLE” is pronounced similar to the girl’s name “Molly” and “MOLLE” is an acronym that stands for “Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment” and it also is an IFAK pouch and depending on who you ask “IFAK” stands for either “Improved First Aid Kit” or “Individual First Aid Kit.” How MOLLE pouches are modular is they have the PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) webbing equipment which is rows of heavy-duty nylon stitched onto the pouch to allow the attachment of various compatible other pouches and accessories and each section can also be used to hold a single 12-gauge shotgun shell or hold a single flashlight if it is of about 3/4 inch in diameter for the main part of it.

The by far most common version of this on the market is the newer version and it has a strap with a buckle on the front, a carrying handle on the top, 2 D rings on the top of the back, has a zippered mesh compartment inside, and is 1 more inch deep, but that strap and buckle is unneeded and makes the contents harder to get to fast and adds weight and can get caught on something, the carrying handle is unneeded except for rare instances where it’s better to grasp like if it was at the bottom below a bunch of other stuff but overall is a bad feature and adds weight as well and can get caught on something as well, has 2 D rings for a carrying strap or attaching to a vehicle with bungee cords but it’s best to not carry it on a carrying strap and instead wear it on a belt or load bearing vest or have it in your vehicle or bug out bag out of view and having it bungee corded to your vehicle is an invitation to a bad guy to steal it and also is a flag that says “this probably is a bug out vehicle” helping that vehicle to not blend in with other vehicles which is bad so those 2 D rings again are just extra weight and something extra that could get caught on something, the zippered mesh compartment inside is a worse design as it is in the form of a flap that when opening the pouch just at the top is blocking half of your stuff and so you have to open the pouch all of the way flat and then fold out the flap to have full access to everything and then do yet 1 more step of opening the zippered mesh compartment itself if you wanted to access stuff in it which is bad and it adds extra weight too, as for it being 1 inch deeper the pouch in this kit is the perfect size for what is in it plus the recommended items listed below so that other pouch is bigger than it needs to be which is also bad. And for the features that slow down accessing everything in the pouch in a medical emergency speed is of the essence and so the last thing that you need is your pouch design slowing you down for accessing what you need and even for everyday use being slowed down is bad as then it is a very minor waste of time. And a very minor problem with that other style is the strap with buckle blocks the middle front so the Red Cross medical patch (that it also comes with) has to go on the left or right of it which does not look quite as good. It’s like they brainstormed to think of “every change that could possibly be made to make the pouch worse besides reducing how good the materials are and besides that it still is MOLLE and still has the same patch” and went with that. So unless you come across a seller with new-old-stock like me you are not going to be able to find this style anymore and I looked around extensively and could not find more as I would like to buy even more then lower the price. Another type of pouch on the market of note is from Orca and it is the same style as this older style one except has 2 D rings.

For the second thing it comes with of the Tactical EMT 5.5” (Inch) Trauma Shears this is what I say about it in the listing where I sell it separately:

They are from the company Precise Canada. They are made with premium grade stainless steel. They are made in Pakistan but have a good quality look and feel to them.

They can be used to cut away clothing if someone is seriously injured to best see how to treat them, cut bandages (so are also called “bandage shears”) and have many other uses including everyday life when you need a good strong pair of scissors to cut something for stuff not having to do with first aid so some people use them for cutting plants while gardening. Another everyday use is opening packages you get in the mail and you are less likely to accidentally cut yourself with these than a knife. They have a blunt tip so if carried in a pocket it’s much harder to poke a hole in it.

These types of shears also come in 7.5” from this company and 7.25” and 3.5” from other companies. This size can be thought of as “medium size” the bigger ones “large size” and the smaller ones “mini size.” The advantage to the smaller size ones is they are more lightweight and compact and the bigger ones offer more leverage. The large size ones are not surprisingly more expensive but not by much. The jaws are about the same size for these as the large size ones. As for leverage the leverage of this size is still good while the mini ones isn’t. While if you’re cutting cables or zip ties this means more slippage than the large size ones if you are using them for medical stuff for cutting clothing or bandages it shouldn’t make much difference so this size is what is overall the best regardless of price.

For the third thing it comes with of the USGI Muslin IFAK Bandage this is what I say about it in the listing where I sell it separately:

Depending on who you ask IFAK stands for either “Improved First Aid Kit” or “Individual First Aid Kit.” The packaging reads: “Bandage, muslin, compressed, camouflaged olive drab, 37 x 37 x 52 inches. 1 each. Elwyn inc. Elwyn, PA 19063-4622.” And there are 6 pictures on one side of the packaging showing the different ways the bandage can be applied. The packaging has never been opened. One of these will fit in a first aid/compass pouch and we sell those separately.

For the fourth thing it comes with of the Rapid One Hand Application Tourniquet this is what I say about it in the listing where I sell it separately:

Designed to be able to be used by just one hand so you can treat yourself if applying to an arm. It stops hemorrhaging (bleeding) so can potentially save a life especially if you are far from a hospital. It’s a tried and tested design and has been proven to work and work well. It’s of a size that can not only be used for adults but also children. It’s durable, compact, and lightweight. Includes windlass and has a pre-marked time stamp. Comes with instructions on how to use it.

For the fifth thing it comes with of the CURAD First Aid Portable Pack this is what I say about it in the listing where I sell it separately:

Great for a purse for girls or vehicle or for building your own first aid kit for guys or girls. Can vend in a snack machine if for resale. After being opened the pouch is designed to be able to be resealed like a Ziploc-style plastic bag. The package reads: “Ideal for travel. Water-resistant pouch. 15 items.” And the 15 items consist of: 2x sterile alcohol swabs, 3x sterile .625” x 2.25” (1.6 x 5.7 cm) flex-fabric bandages, 3x sterile .75” x 3” (1.9 x 7.6 cm) flex-fabric bandages, 3 sterile 1” (2.5 cm) spot bandages, 3x sterile .75” x 3” (1.9 x 7.6 cm) plastic bandages, and 1x sterile 1” x 2.5” (2.5 x 6.4 cm) waterproof bandages.

Stuff I recommend you add to this kit:

There’s some extra space in the pouch because the idea is you should add a bottle of over-the-counter pain relievers and if it’s in your bug out bag any prescription medications you are taking. The reason over-the-counter pain relievers are not included is I wanted this first aid kit to have an indefinite shelf life and also some people prefer Ibuprofen or Aspirin over Tylenol even though both are hard on stomachs as Ibuprofen is anti-inflammatory in addition to offering pain relief and Aspirin can reduce the risk of a heart attack, is a blood thinner, and is anti-inflammatory in addition to offering pain relief. Another thing that it is recommended you add is antibiotic ointment (with the most trusted name-brand being Neosporin) and it also is not included in the first aid kit since that would also make the first aid kit not have an indefinite shelf life and also some people prefer antibiotic ointment with built-in pain relief and some without (and Neosporin makes both versions).

For prescription medication pills always use a pill organizer as it helps prevent double dosing or missing a dose and while it takes time to load saves time overall so is the most responsible way to manage them. When loading one only touch the pills with 100% dry hands (as they can easily smear on wet hands), always check all expiration dates of the bottles of the same type of medication before you open one even if you know you got one in more recently (as it can on rare occasion expire sooner) then make sure to open the one that expires soonest, take out any big cotton ball (as it is pretty much useless) and desiccant (it actually does absorb moisture) when you open a bottle as you will use it so fast it doesn’t need them and having it in there it gets in the way, and be mindful of when you will run out so you can be sure to get more in time as you don’t want to ever skip any doses.

Even if you don’t have a need for a tactical style pouch as opposed to a regular one this pouch is “good quality, and the right size, and given there is no non tactical version this size might as well ‘go tactical’” but if you don’t have a need for tactical then do buy Survival Party Store’s Vehicle First Aid Kit Type 2 over Survival Party Store’s Vehicle First Aid Kit Type 1 and save a buck.

Besides having one of the 2 versions of this first aid kit with the recommended items to add to it in your vehicle you should also have a Survival Party Store’s Glove Box Survival Kit and 4 recommended items to go with that in the glove box (and not this first aid kit in the glove box because nothing in this first aid kit is for everyday use except the scissors and there already is a multitool there that can be used to cut (among other things) and the glove box is closer at hand for the driver in the driver’s seat or front passenger in the front passenger’s seat, than, say, the trunk) an Outdoor Edge Collapsible Pack Saw, jumper cables, and an air compressor, and make sure to have a really good alarm system, a form of The Club steering wheel lock, and a kill switch so no one steals your vehicle (as then by default all this gear is also stolen and most of it is not likely to still be there if the vehicle is found later) and then bad guys are discouraged from even break in in the first place. And all of this information on what to have in a vehicle and where and much more is covered in more detail in my book “Living in a Vehicle Guide.”

We have 3 in stock.

MOLLE IFAK First Aid Kit Pouch in Black (NEW) $24

Pouch and Red Cross medical patch only, it does not come with any first aid supplies, those must be purchased separately and we also sell separately 2 slightly different types of vehicle first aid kits and you can get a much better deal over buying everything separately if you just buy 1 of those.

Multicam First Aid/Compass Pouch (NEW) $13 Made in USA

This is an ALICE pouch (and ALICE is an acronym that stands for “All-purpose Lightweight Carrying Equipment”) and comes with 1 ALICE clip (They're the metal clips that attach stuff to a pistol belt) and it's also new. This is a rare color, you almost never see these in any color other than OD (Olive Drab). In addition to fitting first aid stuff such as the USGI Muslin IFAK Bandages we sell separately or a compass such as the lensatic compass we sell separately it also will fit the altoid’s tin survival kits we sell separately.

These first aid/compass pouches are U.S. military style but I’m not 100% sure if this made in the USA manufacturer is the same as the made in the USA manufacture of ones issued to U.S. troops, so I’m not sure if they're USGI (United States General Issue). A lot of sellers say their stuff is USGI when it’s not and some also use misleading language like “USGI style” or “USGI type” without explaining more information about it but I’m an honest seller and so I let you know everything I know about my products.

Black Collapsible 1 Qt. (One Quart) Canteen Made in USA & Black Cover (NEW) $23

You can squish the middle of these canteens to let the extra air out and then after you close the top tight there's no annoying sloshing around of water inside and for hunters and soldiers it’s especially nice to be as quiet as possible. Also with the canteen having the ability to be more compact when not full this frees up extra room in the canteen cover for extra stuff.

The canteen is made by BasicGear and is new and made in the USA. The cover is made by Fox Tactical and is new and is imported. The cover in addition to fitting the canteen can also fit a canteen cup (not included) and a canteen stove/stand (not included). Also the canteen cover can be used to store things other than canteens and canteen stuff, the glove box survival kit that we sell separately will fit in one. The small compartment on the cover has a velcro closure and is designed to fit a jar of portable aqua water purification tablets but can be used to store trioxane fuel tabs, esbit fuel tabs, matches, a mini bic lighter, gum, candy or other small stuff or even just left empty.

Comes with 2 Alice clips (They're the metal clips that attach stuff to a pistol belt) and those are also new.

These canteens are US military style but I’m not 100% sure if this made in the USA manufacturer is the same as the made in the USA manufacture of ones issued to US troops, so I’m not sure if they're USGI (United States General Issue). The covers are US army style but are not made in the USA so can’t be USGI, but it’s more important to have the canteen made in USA than the cover because the canteen you’re going to be drinking out of. A lot of sellers say their stuff is USGI when it’s not and some also use misleading language like “USGI style” or “USGI type” but I’m an honest seller and so I let you know everything I know about my products.
