Pack of 9x Emergency Food Ration Bars (NEW) $25 Disaster Preparedness Survival

Each individual food ration meal bar is 410 calories, so each pack of 9 has 3,690 calories total. People typically think of foods with high calories as a bad thing, and if you’re trying to lose weight they are a bad thing, but in a survival situation where you don’t have enough food, foods with high calories like these food bars are a good thing as people need a certain amount of calories for energy just to survive. They’re designed so if you have no other food you ration the bars by eating 1 bar per each of the 3 meals in your day so a pack of 9 bars is a 3 day food supply with this method. They only have 15mg sodium per bar which is almost nothing which is great if you’re on a low sodium diet for health reasons or in a survival situation where you don’t have a lot of water, either on land or in a life boat or life raft. They’re made in the U.S.A. by SOS Food Labs which is a world leader in emergency food rations for life saving craft and natural disasters. Meets IMO (International Maritime Organization) recommendations. They were made in May of 2020 and have a 5 year shelf life so don’t expire until May of 2025 (and both of those dates are clearly printed on the package) and since they have a long shelf life it buys you time if a disaster doesn’t happen to eat them up, give them away, or sell them before they go bad. Because they are compact and vacuum sealed they are great for your BOB (Bug Out Bug) or BOV (Bug Out Vehicle), or car, truck, or van that you don’t consider to really be a BOV as they don’t take up much space. A pack of 9 has a Net wt: 1.66lbs (756g). Inside each pack of 9 each bar is individually wrapped in a clear plastic wrapper. To open a pack of 9 you will need scissors or a knife as it is heavy duty packaging with no little “starter tear” but to open the packaging of the individual bars you just grasp the packaging at one end then pull outwards like opening a bag of potato chips.

When people think survival food they often think MRE’s (Meals Ready to Eat, they’re what U.S. soldiers eat in the field or when doing field exercises) but they are loaded with sodium, one complete MRE meal has between 2/3 and 3/4 of the sodium you are supposed to eat in a day even if you don’t use the packet of salt that each MRE meal comes with, so if you have 3 meals a day of MREs you will go way over on the sodium and in a survival situation you won’t necessarily have a lot of water and the more sodium you take in, the more water you need to drink, and you don’t have to have MREs to have foods that are ready to eat right out of the package (without having to add water or cook them) and have a long shelf life, as these food ration bars are ready to eat right of the package and have a long shelf life.

2x Mountain House Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwiches (NEW, sealed) $15

The Mountain House ice cream sandwiches and also the neapolitan ice creams and are the only Mountain House foods that can be eaten straight out the package with no preparation, if you tried doing that with any of their other foods you would break your teeth the other foods are so hard, but it doesn’t look like they make the neapolitan ice creams anymore. They are freeze-dried so can not melt and if you have never had freeze-dried ice cream before then it will be “the most novel ice cream you have ever had.” They have a shelf life of up to 3 years (which is less than the non ice-cream Mountain House foods but they have the advantage of “ready-to-eat and are a delicious treat.”) Yours will not be expired.
